Released data Deep wells and seismic surveys
The Faroese Earth and Energy Directorate has started to release data from oil and gas related exploration activities on the Faroe Islands which have exceeded the confidentiality period.

In general data are kept confidential as mentioned below:

Proprietary data5 years
Speculative data10 years

The Act concerning the use of the Faroese subsurface states that all data acquired during activities in the Faroese subsurface must be forwarded to Faroese Earth and Energy Directorate, which is the national databank for all types of data from the Faroese area.

Seismic data that were acquired in the former white zone prior to the boundary dispute being resolved will not be released.

Purchase of data
Well data
One report on each CD1,000,- DKK
All analog log data from each well on one CD1,000,- DKK
All digital log data from each well on one DVD10,000,- DKK
All digital VSP data from each well on one DVD10,000,- DKK

Seismic data
There is an initial fee of 11.500 DKK for each survey and then 1,50 DKK for each km 2D data and 12,50 DKK for each km2 3D data.
